Why no Copper in the Zinc product?Updated 2 months ago

Q: Consumer would like to know why there isn't any copper in our Zinc product?

A: The decision not to include copper in our zinc formulation was based on the fact that accumulation of Copper in body tissues can create health problems, and copper deficiency is relatively uncommon in America. While it is true that high zinc intakes can deplete copper stores, this would generally be true of supplementation levels higher than those found in our MegaFood Zinc supplement.

Typical diets in the US meet or exceed the copper RDA. Deficiency can occur with intake of zinc at 60 mg per day for more than 2 months. This is why the upper limit for zinc was set at 40 mg per day except when taking acutely.

If you prefer a little additional copper, they might consider taking the zinc formulation in conjunction with a foundational multi-vitamin that contains some copper.
