Tablet Dissolution? (Consumer labs)Updated 2 months ago
For anyone who receives concerns about Consumer Labs claiming that vitamins should break down in a glass of water in 45 minutes and that ours do not:
The nutrients in our products are delivered with a variety of whole foods meant to be broken down in the digestive tract. Our products are not meant to dissolve in water as fast as say a non-food containing vitamin would, just as you wouldn't expect to see a food such as broccoli dissolve in water.
MegaFood performs disintegration testing using water at a controlled temperature of 37 degrees Celsius on a moving platform to replicate peristalsis. For tablets, the typical time for disintegration is 60-90 minutes, whereas the typical time for our capsules to disintegrate is 30 minutes.
