Response to Negative Vitamin Info in the PressUpdated 2 months ago

There has been much discussion in the press recently concerning an editorial piece that concluded 'most supplements do not prevent chronic disease or death'. The purpose of multivitamins, and in fact the reason most people are taking a multi-vitamin, is not to prevent or cure chronic disease, but rather to provide a nutritional foundation by providing modest potencies of a broad range of nutrients.

It is for each individual to choose the best approach to supporting their own health and decide whether a multi-vitamin can help by way of supporting overall health and wellness and filling in nutrient gaps. As the Council for Responsible Nutrition notes, "Science still demonstrates the multivitamin works for those purposes, and that alone provides reason for people to take a multivitamin."
