Probiotic Culturing and Purity Testing ProcessUpdated 2 months ago
Each strain comes from a master cell bank that has been isolated and characterized both genotypically and phenotypically to establish its purity. This master cell bank is then expanded using conventional cell culture techniques to the volume and cell number necessary to successfully seed a bio-reactor, where it is expanded to final concentration before harvesting and drying. Individual strains prepared in this manner are then blended, encapsulated, bottled and labeled to create the finished (Flora) product. Strict adherence to GMP during manufacturing employs sufficient controls to ensure contaminants are not present in any meaningful amount. But, just to be sure, we routinely retest our finished product to ensure these contaminants - if present - are within limits that ensure the safety of the consuming public.
