Why isn’t there EPA in this formula? ?
Our blend doesn't include EPA because it's not needed, thanks to Ahiflower®, an abundant source of SDA, an omega-3 that the body efficiently converts to EPA. Studies show SDA is just as effective at promoting EPA levels in the body as taking EPA directly. In addition to SDA, our unique combination of Ahiflower and algae oil provides other key fatty acids like DHA and GLA, crucial for your body’s overall health.?
Where are the omegas coming from? ?
The omegas in our formula are derived directly from Ahiflower® and algae through cold pressed and hexane-free extraction processes.Sourced from a fellow B-corp, Ahiflower® is traceable to UK farms, grown using regenerative farming practices.The algae oil is derived from a microalgae strain that was originally wild-sourced in the Bay of Fundy, NS, Canada. Now it’s fermented and extracted in a closed system, minimizing exposure to allergens, pesticides, heavy metals or microplastics. ?
What is Ahiflower®? ?
Ahiflower®, or Buglossoides arvensis, once a wild plant found in the UK's hedgerows, is now traceable to UK farms and grown using regenerative agriculture practices. It's known for its complete and balanced Omega 3-6-9 profile, and distinguished by its high content of SDA, an Omega-3 fatty acid. SDA is known as a precursor to EPA, proving just as efficient in promoting EPA in the body as direct EPA supplementation. This makes Ahiflower a potent plant-based substitute for fish oil, thanks to SDA's efficient conversion to EPA in the body.?
Why does the color of oil in my capsules look different than last time I ordered? ?
We utilize as many plant-based derived ingredients as possible; our products may vary in color over time and with each new batch we make.
Does this product need to be refrigerated? What's the best way to store it?
This product does not require refrigeration; simply keep it in its original packaging in a cool, dry place. Once open, consume within 3 months.?
What does burp-less mean? ?
Burp-less means fewer burps! Our Omega 3-6-9 product is specially designed to reduce burps for a better omega experience. How? Our oils are carefully processed to reduce oxidation for better tasting oil and we pack them in delayed-release capsules that dissolve in your intestines, not your stomach.?
Has this product been verified by Vegan Action? ?
This product does not contain animal or animal-derived ingredients. While we couldn't meet all the paperwork requirements with our manufacturing partner to achieve the third-party Vegan Action seal, we have no doubt this formula is suitable for those that follow a vegan or plant-based diet.?
Is heavy metal testing of this product available? ?
Our Quality Assurance Department follows a rigorous testing protocol to ensure that all our products meet the highest quality standards. This includes testing for pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals and microbiological contaminants; and testing for quality throughout the manufacturing process - from raw material to finished product. We have strict policies in place that would prevent any products from reaching our consumers that were not approved by our Quality Assurance team. As with all of our quality control and quality assurance documents, testing is intended for internal use only. If there is a specific concern about the product you have purchased, we will do our best to assist you.?
Is this kosher/halal? ?
This product is not certified kosher. While MegaFood operates a certified Kosher facility, it is not a certification all our manufacturing partners hold. As we do not encapsulate this product in-house, we cannot apply the Kosher seal at this time.?
Are these enteric coated? ?
The capsules are not enteric-coated; instead, they utilize a delayed-release technology to minimize burps and aftertaste, serving a similar purpose as enteric coating?

Why is the oil a little bit cloudy?
?The oil appears cloudy because of the lemon coating on the outside of the capsule
How are the capsules sealed?
The capsule shells are designed to snap together - heat is not applied.
Can I open the capsules if I can not swallow them?
It is not recommended, as the "burp-less" claim is based on taking the product within the capsule.
What is gellan gum? What is its source?
Gellan gum is a water-soluble polysaccharide produced by the bacterium Sphingomonas elodea used in the production of the capusle shell.
