Nutrient antagonists - can certain vitamins be taken together?Updated 2 months ago

While vitamins and minerals often complement one another, others can inhibit absorption when taken together. For example the macrominerals calcium and magnesium can interfere with the absorption of microminerals such as iodine or zinc in a multivitamin. For this reason, our entire Advanced Multivitamin collection does not contain calcium and magnesium, and we recommend supplementing with those minerals when additional support is needed.

Vitamin D is another example where additional amounts can be taken separately from the multivitamin if higher amounts are necessary to meet your individual needs.

Generally, when taken in smaller amounts, such as those found naturally in foods, and with a varied diet, nutrient antagonization shouldn't be a major concern.
